Ionela Mădălina RUSEN

Strategic urban planner holding a degree in Urban Planning and Design at the „Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urbanism in Bucharest, being also a graduate of the master’s program specialization Urban Management for Competitive Cities, whithin the same university.
Her interests encompass two main areas: integrated urban design and systemic sustainable development of the construction sector through innovative solutions and principles, policy support and design for EU cities, in response to contemporary challenges related to climate change.
Currently, she is actively involved in HORIZON research and innovation projects such as Build-in-Wood and WOODCIRCLES, which aim to promote sustainable and circular development of the built environment by increasing the use and widespread adoption of bio-based materials (such as wood) in multi-storey buildings and upcycling wood waste materials through digital and innovative solutions.
